Deep in dark places, far from the bright shrieking light of manageable fantasies lurks a discordant and disconsolate facsimile of things better left unstained. Tenticular trepidations manifest themselves as something far less sane and/or subtle than your ordinary affront to everything vaguely tenable; prone to decimate anything other than impressed perspectives.
“Why that’s gibberish!” someone cried aloud.
No, not quite but flirting at the edges.
In a nutshell yes, the entities in question are indeed insidious, slickly insinuating themselves into gently feckless crevices. (Because they can.) Shifting and morphing in ways beyond most human comprehension, they regularly find new ways to finger things improperly, and sometimes mimic the shape of the landscape with a corrupt measure of impunity that frankly makes my glavin ache.
Entrenched within the turgid flow their fakely passive advances pass for versions of reality that mask and dazzle, tempting every other hapless crab. They see it as a logical outcome anyway, maybe even a way of getting “in”, or more accurately inside their speckled aggressor (because they were eaten)—food for thought offered to any on the sidelines.
Don’t underestimate their slick ability to self-insert questionable intentions in damning places, simply to infiltrate a vexed perspective and flex the front of blinding guiles meant to bind denial with conviction. Not to wholly buy the ruse of subtle fiction, but still half-drowned, their victims barely know the difference.
And so it goes, the prime performance underpins a central narrative, while sly confided by-lines help to obfuscate their questionable intentions. If only ever meant to hold a temporary sway, the rapt attention soaked in wonder shuns it own pretenses for a chance to be involved in soft offerings just as wary as the prescient expression. Pulsing, throbbing, wonderments that vex are wryly guiding their deriders into open enmity; a murky cave where every vicious outcome is provided.
Tease. Trap. Triumph.
Then gone forevermore.
