Splintered Art
Over the decades I've engaged in a wide range of visual art experiments. What follows is a series of galleries dedicated to my various escapades. More images will be added over time.

2-D Designs

Paintings and drawings in plenty of different styles and mediums compiled over many, many years. I went through my Jackson Pollack phase in high school (inspired by a professor) and sampled a variety of different techniques that are still ongoing to this day. What comes next is anyone's guess, although it may include the occasional octopus.

The Evolution of Form
In late 1999, after years of studying anatomy I attempted an ambitious task: to do a figure drawing a day for an entire year. While I didn't quite make that goal I did keep on track for nearly eight months. Days when I couldn't draw I would make up for with anatomy sketches from various textbooks. In the 2010s I began adding color to some of the drawings, a task still ongoing...
All images are pencil / colored pencil on paper.

Comix/AoTC
For years I worked on developing a series of graphic novels/ comic books that were ultimately aborted. However, no good idea should go unfulfilled so I've begun converting my comic stories into a group of fantasy fiction novels, currently under construction. All images are pencil / colored pencil on paper.

Figure Drawings
Miscellaneous images not part of The Evolution of Form
Artist's note: curious viewers may wonder: why so many "lightly clothed" models? These drawings stem from my college studies in figure drawing and later efforts to learn anatomy. While nude models were part of my curriculum, later subjects came from various types of photos, especially from magazines. Nudes can be compelling but adding clothing offers more artistic challenges. Minimal clothing leaves most anatomy exposed. More involved clothing shifts focus more to the garment. Both styles are interesting. Anything with lace, like lingerie can be especially difficult. I realize this style of art may not be to everyone's taste.
